My Role

I was the Production Assistant at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum in 2015.

The UBC Beaty Biodiversity Museum is Vancouver's only natural history museum, dedicated to enhancing the appreciation of biodiversity. As the Production Assistant, I was in charge of designing large-format signage for museum exhibits, photographing museum exhibits and specimens as documentation, and putting together researcher's talks to upload onto Youtube for educational purposes.

MY VISION:

As the Production Assistant, the designs I created revolved around showcasing natural beauty, and using natural textures to bring organic life to my designs.

Discovery Lab Poster

The museum has an area in the back called the Discovery Lab, where visitors can engage interactively and handle specimens to learn more about them. I was tasked with designing a sign for the Discovery Lab.

Activity Tables

Throughout the museum, there are activity tables for visitors to read and engage with in activities such as origami folding.

As the Production Assistant, I was in charge of designing everything on the activity tables: from drawing the origami illustrations, to the actual table design, to printing the large-format poster, cutting it, and assembling it onto the table.

Museum Signage

General signage I created for the museum, that was printed and put up around the museum.
